This glazed pottery Gaiwan has a special saucerless design. Its delicate glaze gives a smooth touch. This Gaiwan has two designs. One design has the whole Heart Sutra is hand-written onto the cup; the other one has Chinese characters of "知足" (pronounced: Zhī Zú, meaning: contented mind) is written in calligraphy; a painting of red-crowned crane and an elder drinking tea highlights the Chinese philosophy of “happiness lies in contentment”. This Gaiwan is great for not only making tea, but also exploring the vast history of tea culture.
